The A Level in Fine Art course provides a broad-based programme in which students are encouraged to explore a range of media, processes and techniques and to support their study through critical and contextual work in sketchbooks and journals.

The course aims to provide students who wish to progress onto to higher education with the skills and knowledge to enable them to pursue a successful career in art and design.

The personal investigation is a portfolio unit, comprising of practical work and a 3000 word essay. Learners must submit both practical and written evidence to pass this unit. It is worth 60% of the over all grade for A level 

A2 externally assessed assignment. Choose one of the practical questions set by the exam board and create a body of work using appropriate materials, techniques and processes. Final outcome will be produced in 15 hour exam. This unit is worth 40% of the A level grade.
