Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to participate in a range of biological and ecological investigations and as a result you should develop a number of practical skills. These include a good understanding of how to use common biological apparatus such as light microscopes, pipettes, water baths, spirometers, DNA gel electrophoresis and bio viewers. 

In the first year key areas you will cover include Biological Molecules, Enzymes, Health and Disease and Evolution.

In the second year your knowledge will further develop in areas including Respiration, Photosynthesis, Excretion and Genetics.

A range of teaching approaches will be used to help develop your independent study and research skills.
