Physics is the study of how the universe works, what it is made of, how it started and where it is going. In the course you will study particles, matter, waves, energy, electricity and forces.  You will develop skill in analysing situations and solving problems. This will involve understanding and applying ideas and using mathematical techniques. The course has a practical element where you develop experimental skills in the laboratory.

In the first year of the course you will cover particle physics, quantum phenomena, electricity, mechanics, materials and waves.

In the second year your knowledge will be developed in areas including fields and further mechanics and you can take an optional unit.

A range of teaching approaches will be used to develop your independent study along with research skills such as presentations, group work and self-evaluation activities.
