In this unit, you will understand
how the Civil Contingencies Act and emergency planning play a major role in
preparing emergency services to respond effectively to major incidents.
You will develop knowledge of the agencies involved in emergency planning, the
need for this and the key aspects of civil contingency planning for major
incidents.
You will develop knowledge and skills in preparing for a particular major
incident and have the opportunity to practise and demonstrate these in a planned scenario to show you
understand how emergency and public services plan and manage major incidents.
